Although Nate had to work, and we couldn't spend the day together as a family, Tavis and I spent the day as we usually do, reading, playing and watching Pooh. Nate was working because the "weekend" in countries that practice Islam is on Thursday and Friday, Friday being their most holy day. Nate gets Fridays off, but because nothing opens until after 4, we have to be creative on how we spend our time. After Nate got home, we went to a chocolate shop we have fallen in love with and got ourselves some treats. Gourmet chocolate is a big thing here, with stores lining the streets (lucky me!!). Obviously, Valentine's Day is not a holiday that is recognized here, it being both a western holiday and a Christian holiday, but we were stll able to celebrate in our own way.
